Little Lacy Sunflower Motif Pattern

I thought I'd stop in this evening to bring a little pattern to ya! I've been toying around with the idea of making a swimsuit cover for this summer, and so I picked up my new fingering-weight yarn from Yarn Picks, started playing and this sunflower piece was what came from it.

I like too many things, and I can't decide! Plus I've got about a million other projects in the works, so it's hard to focus on this one thing. 

The sunflower is nothing grandeur by any means, but I thought I'd post the pattern for it. I think it's cute and dainty. :) Who knows, maybe I'll do a little crochet-along and post the pattern for my swimsuit cover as I go along? OOOooh fun. 

Anywho, here's the dainty little sunflower pattern...

What you'll need:
Size B hook (2.25 mm)
Cotton yarn in fingering weight (I used Yarn Picks Comfy Fingering Yarn in Ivory found here)

Dimensions:
Approximately 3.25 x 3.25 in

Abbreviations:
ch=chain, st(s)=stitch(es), sc=single crochet, dc=double crochet, tr=treble, sl=slip, sp=space, yo=yarn over, sk=skip dtr= double treble crochet, 3dcl= three double crochet cluster (explained below)

Stitch explanation:
3dcl= yo, insert hook into designated st, yo, bring back through st, yo, draw through first two loops on hook, leave 2 loops on hook, yo, insert hook into same st you were already working in, yo, bring back through st, yo, draw through first two loops on hook, leave 3 loops on hook, yo, insert hook into same st you were already working in, yo, bring back through st, yo, draw through first two loops on hook yo, draw through remaining four loops on hook

double treble= yarn over 3 times, insert hook into stitch, yo, bring back through stitch, yo, draw through two loops, and continue to yo and draw through two loops until you have one loop left on your hook

Pattern:

ch 6, join to 1st ch to form circle
1) *working in the circle: ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1) [dc, ch 1] 11 times, join to 3rd ch with sl st (12 total dc)
2) sl st into ch 1 sp, working in ch 1 sp: ch 3, dc, dc, ch 2 (counts as 3dcl, ch 2), [in next ch 1 sp: 3dcl, ch 2] 11 times, join to 3rd ch with sl st (12 total 3dcl)
3) sl st over to the ch 2 sp, working all into the 1st ch 2 sp: ch 5, dtr, dtr, ch 5, sl st into same ch 2 sp you were working in (counts as one "petal") [sl st into next ch 2 sp & working all in the same ch 2 sp: ch 5, dtr, dtr, ch 5, sl st into same ch 2 sp] 11 times (12 total petals)
4) sl st up the ch 5 and the 1st dtr of the 1st petal, then [work a sc into the sp between the two dtr, ch 8, then sl st back into the 5th ch you just made, ch 4, sc into next petal in between the two dtr, (ch 5, sc into next petal in between the two dtr) 2 times] 4 times
