The Ohhio O-Cushion

Soooo I have something really cool I wanted to share with you today… It’s a project I did recently that was the quickest, most gratifying and downright fun one yet. It was the Ohhio O-Cushion!

Ohhio reached out about trying this new O-Cushion kit, and lemme tell ya.. I didn’t hesitate on saying yes because I’ve been crushing hard on their products for quite some time. I came across their brand about a year ago when arm-knitting was all the rage.. (I mean, it still is really cool. It just seemed like everyone wanted a chunky knit blanket last year lol) and Ohhio has such luxurious products, and if I’m being honest after trying their Ohhio Braid, it’s totally worth the splurge.

The O-Cushion kit comes in three different sizes, and is offered in five beautiful colors. I chose the gray colored yarn because that’s basically my “spirit color” so…. :)

Before this project, I had never hand-crocheted before (gasp!). I’ve used my fingers but never my whole hand with gargantuan yarn before. And I will say, it was just so neat — not to mention super fast! I finished my cushion in less than an hour, and in my books that is the perfect project.

The yarn, Ohhio Braid, is so darn dreamy. It’s a cotton fabric tube, filled with hollow fiber— which basically makes it a pillow, but in yarn form? haha It’s so darn plush-y and simply a pleasure to work with. And the best part?? It’s washable. Which solved a big problem for those who wanted to have a chunky wool blanket in their home, but wanted the ease of throwing the item in the wash.

The kit comes with incredibly detailed instructions with tons of photos, which was actually really impressive. I feel like you could go into this project as a beginner and get ‘er done.

Overall, I would 100% recommend this kit to any maker. It’s such a sleek and simple design, that is really just such a pleasure to whip up. As I was making it, I remember stopping to take a photo and thinking, “this is just brilliant— I love it”. It would make the perfect rainy day project.

Plus, when you have leftover yarn, your two year old can make a toy/complete mess out of it. And pick out the filling then throw it around without a care in the world. I mean, it did keep him occupied while I finished up the project, so I’ll take the mess I suppose 😜 Plus he’s cute so I’ll forgive him.
